Modern Studio 12x12 Square Tube Aluminum Frame Break Down 6ft Tubes

The design of this kit doesn't allow for much improvisation on set. There is no internal locking mechanism within the rails. They rely on the sleeves/ears to stay together.
Since you're stuck keeping the ears in the exact center of the rails in order to keep the frame together, you'll have to bust out the cardellinis or an extra pair of ears or sleeves in order to grab the frame from another spot. It would make more sense if it came with 4 sleeves instead of two (which mine didn't even ship with).

It'll do the job just fine, but just be aware that you'll need to shell out an extra $40 for two additional sleeves, or commit to being rigid with your ear placement. Even so, it still beats Matthews' 12x12 breakdown price point by a mile.

Great solid construction. I had the 8x8 break apart and was happy with it so I purchased the 12x12 and it has worked nicely.
