Most objects produce some glare. Even though it may be minor, this glare can cause a "washing out" or weakening of the object's color. "Cross polarization" can reduce this glare to provide richer color saturation. Transmission is 38% (1 1/2 stops).
This neutral grey linear polarizing film is used in front of lights to reduce the glare caused by smooth surfaces such as glass, water, paper and certain metallic objects. Especially effective when used in conjunction with a polarizing filter at the lens (cross polarization). Should be placed at a distance from hot lights.
More Information: Each filter is clearly marked to indicate the axis of polarization. In addition to glare reduction, Rosco Polarizing Filters may be utilized for a variety of other special effects or technical applications. These include Birefringence (for crystal photography) and motion illusion. Rosco Polarizing Filter is produced on as mil acetate base. It is an excellent neutral grey with minimal color temperature shift.
